Privacy Statement

The Community Tool Box (CTB) WorkStations at myctb.org, are built on Microsoft SharePoint. The WorkStation websites are online collaboration spaces that enable community organizations to engage with colleagues, share ideas, and reinvent the way they work.

Many of the CTB WorkStations also use our proprietary Community Check Box (CCB) evaluation system to measure and improve the effectiveness of their work. Whatever goal or initiative they are working on, the CCB provides the tools needed to display data collected and keep everything on track.

The majority of the CTB WorkStations can only be accessed by registered users who have been granted permission to individual WorkStations, but some WorkStations allow anonymous access.

Anonymous Users:

Anonymous users can browse WorkStations that are set to allow public access without disclosing personal data. This site collects certain information about all users for the purposes of statistics and administration of the site. This is general information about your browser and your connection and contains no personally identifiable details. We do keep that information indefinitely, but we do not share it with other organizations or companies. Our site contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

Registered Users:

Registered users are granted permission by their community organizations to access the WorkStation(s) that support the work they are doing. Names and email addresses of registered users are collected to allow access to the system. We also use those email addresses to communicate with registered users to inform them about system changes or outages.

Community Research Data:

The CCB is used to collect de-identified data to help organizations track what they accomplish and how effective their efforts are in reaching the goals they are trying to achieve. No personally identifiable data should ever be stored on this system.

All data collected is stored at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, USA. We do not transmit those data across the borders of the USA, including backups. We do not make use of hosting providers that may reside outside the USA. Data are stored in accordance with the policies and procedures of the University of Kansas and the Center for Community Health and Development.
